The Chamber of Commerce of Orihuela and with it, the companies of its territorial scope, exceeded considerably the figures of export in the year 2018 with respect to 2017. This data is supported by the number of certificates of origin and free sale issued by the cameral entity in these two years, quadrupling practically the number of documents requested by the merchants of the Vega Baja to be able to prove the origin of a merchandise facing the buyer country and thus satisfy the customs, consular, etc. requirements. Thus, in 2017, 253 certificates were issued and in 2018 a total of 917. “We verified how our companies improve their internationalization and seek to place their products in leading markets such as the United States or Brazil”, explained the president of Cámara Orihuela, Mario Martínez, who has been satisfied with the data.
Last year the companies of the region that made this administrative process exported their merchandise to 67 countries such as the United States, Brazil, China, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Switzerland, Cuba, Vietnam, Canada, among others. There were also 38 free sales certificates. A document that allows you to meet one of the requirements to register products or brands in other countries.
Martinez has ensured that this shows that the companies of the Vega Baja “enjoy very good health and expectations for the future, as the internationalization of our productive fabric grows, and that is evident in these administrative procedures that we do at the Orihuela Chamber.” In addition, he affirmed that “we are aware of the potential of our companies, we are in a strategic area and in which there are some conditions that in other places they do not have”. In this sense, Martinez recognizes that there is still a long way to go and “from the institution we will give our support to all the companies in the region, as well as to make available to them all the mechanisms that are within our reach so that they can develop his work in the best way. ”
Martinez has indicated that this is supported by both the Ministry of Commerce and the Council of Chambers of the Valencian Community and Chamber Spain, “that from the outset have opted for internationalization.”
